On May 18 Jane and I went up the Tombigbee River in Cap'n Bill Kidd's pontoon boat to see an osprey nest that his son Ed had located. It was my first opportunity to see an inhabited nest and to see two adults that close. That's Ed in the bass boat leading us to the nest. I also took photos of the lock and dam from up river and the Clay County Port where salt was being unloaded from a barge. We really enjoyed the outing!

Photos taken with 50D and most with the 100 - 400 and a few with Jane's 50 mm f1.8 as I inadvertently left my 17 - 55 at home. It was mostly cloudy and somewhat hazy.
