It's a rare occurrence in MS when ice forms on lakes, ponds and cypress swamps! It was not only cold but very windy as evidenced by the waves on the lake. Several inlets where I often photograph birds were covered with thin ice. I was happily surprised by the number of birds that I was able to photograph and to see duck hunters putting their camo boat in the lake. It was only up to 29 degrees Saturday! After leaving the waterway we went to a nearby cypress swamp.
