Cotton is about ready to be picked! These fields were located near Brooksville, MS in the rich soil of the Tombigbee Prairie area of MS. The soil of the "black prairie" is pretty dark when damp and it cracks and shifts very badly when dry so any structures must have 3 - 4 ft deep footings.
